NYC’s own Satan Mares formed in the early 2025. Fronted by Ira Oksman, The Satan Mares are influenced by the late 60s, interweaving Psychedelic Garage Rock with Rockabilly, and Slavic folk.

The Satan Mares is an extensive family of musicians, most recently features Ira on vocal and guitar, Sarah on bass, Davey on drums and flute, and Ilse on keys and theremin.

The character of the Satan Mare is the subject of Ira’s ongoing art series that’s rooted in the surrealistic world of the Slavic folklore and avant-garde movement.
