NYC’s own Satan Mares formed in the early 2025. Fronted by Ira (pron. Eera, she/her) Oksman, a Russian born artist, the Satan Mares interweave Beat and Psychedelia with Slavic Avant-garde.

The Satan Mares are: Ira on vocal and rhythm guitar, Kim on bass and vocal, Frankie on drums, Zina on lead guitar and keys, and Davey on sitar and flute.

The character of the Satan Mare is the main subject of Ira’s ongoing art series that’s deeply rooted in the Slavic lore and early 1900s surrealist avant-garde movement.
